Treadmills in Port Elizabeth

Not that much it turns out. Especially considering that you will be one of the people who are going to use it and get all of the resultant benefits! Keep reading my posts and I will keep you motivated and educated in the ways of health and fitness

How much does a treadmill cost?

Well let’s take the example of a treadmill costing R14 500. No it’s not the cheapest treadmill I can offer you.
Yes, I know you wanted the cheapest treadmill in the world for R5 000. Well that one is over there in the corner, that’s right next to the new Plasma TV for R500. That’s right, being used by the jittery brain surgeon who offers discounts if he can operate on three people at the same time. Now he can offer you a cheap deal!
Have I made my point on cheap stuff in general?
Let’s get real for a minute. Buy something that you will ENJOY and love training on. Something that will keep you coming back for more. Spoil yourself. Use the similar criteria to those that you use when buying a car.
A good treadmill at a price point of R14 500 will last you about five years. It’s a capital purchase like a car. By the way on average we replace cell phones every two years at an average real cost of R5000. And No, you don’t really get it for free, and NO you don’t need all of the features
So here is the comparison.
Treadmill …………………………..R8       per day                  R14 500      total over 5 years
1 packet Cigarettes                        R10      per day                 R18 000   total over 5 years
1 Coffee Per day                            R10       per day                R18 000    total over 5 years
Gym membership (Virgin) ………R13      per day                R24 000    total over 5 years
15 km return drive                            R24      per day                 R43 200    total over 5 years
30 minutes on cell every day         R60     per day                R108 000   total over 5 years
YES, You can afford to buy something that is good for you by cutting back on other, sometimes needless expenses.
Some purchases like houses and cars need to be put into perspective and seen as part of a monthly budget.
Exercise equipment is no exception.

More and more people are looking to run small businesses at home.

Make Money from Your own Home GymMake Money from a Home Gym

From Nursery schools, hair dressers, beauty salons and physiotherapists, NLP therapists, hypno-therapists, and Dr’s practices.

If you are looking at setting up a home gym and are already running small business from home and have captive clients base why not think about starting up a small home based gym for your clients?
Recent research has shown that more and more gym members are looking for convenience and will happily sacrifice the glamour of big busy fancy gyms.

How difficult is it?

With the right advice and a short personalised business plan it can be very easy.
There are many personal trainers and bikineticists looking for an opportunity to become involved in training clients. So by you providing a small capital injection and space and the personal trainer providing expertise then you have a perfect win-win situation.
The following are some examples of existing businesses who have simply added a small personal training or gym training area.

• Hair dressers
• Beauty therapists
• Nursery schools
• Martial Arts schools
• Private Schools
• Dance studios

All of the above have clients coming to see them at some stage during the day anyway
How much would it cost?

Well let’s look at that in context, how much could you make in a small gym layout that could go into 50 to 60 square meters.

A monthly income R15 000 to R30 000 per month plus a payment from a personal trainer to use the facility. That means R20 000 to R35 000 per month turnover.
Costs of equipment, repairs and maintenance no more than R5000 per month over 60 months.
Bear in mind that this type of add on facility would have a very positive knock on effect on your primary business.

So for a start of a small home based gym for less than R200 000, including business plan.
