treadmills in Port elizabeth

I get a lot of people calling me because they are undecided in terms of the treadmill they should be buying. Here are five things I would ask:

So I would assume that you have shopped around, got some prices, set your budget, and now you are ready to make that decision. What should you be asking especially when comparing those last options?

1. Have you checked the available space at your house? Power points, ventilation etc. Do you have limited space? Don’t despair; look at Folding treadmills instead of smaller treadmills.

2. When do you want it? Does the company have stock? When you get that motivation to buy then you want to GET THAT TREADMILL NOW! Call me for availability of treadmills throughout South Africa. 071 863 7398 or email fitness@gym4me.com

3. Spares and servicing and how reputable is the manufacturer. The country is littered with “good deals” Treadmills brought over as once off purchases and sold off by shady operators. That’s why I say never buy a second hand treadmill and do your homework. Contact me to learn more about reputable vendors in South Africa.

4. What else does the company do? Is this a company committed to the Health and Fitness industry? There are only two basic categories of treadmills, those that are backed up and those that are not. I know all of the companies who DO offer the right service. Contact me and I will gladly share my information.

5. Are you ready to DO IT NOW? Motivation means to move. You have taken your investigations this far,

you have the information you have the desire to make changes in your life, all that you might lack is that motivation to make it happen.

It’s that last thing that holds us all back: “procrastination”. Well let me tell you a little story about procrastination and why I don’t procrastinate any more.

Three years ago a friend of mine walked into a nightclub and dropped dead of a heart attack. He was 46 years old and had been planning to get back into the gym for quite some time.
He had also been experiencing some shortness of breath and chest cramps and he was definitely going to see the Dr some time soon.

Now I can’t speak for all of you reading this but what I can say is this; if you make the decision today, to move ahead and start your exercise program, buy your equipment, or just make some changes to your lives then you are one in 1000 people that will do it.
That’s right, 999 people on average will procrastinate and the good intentions will remain nothing but good intentions. Had my friend gone to the GP about his chest pains the week before then he may still be here.
Had my friend started his exercise program when we had started talking about it more than a year previously then he may still be with us.
Of course some of you may be saying that he may have died anyway, and of course you would be right by saying that. That is the voice that makes us procrastinate, the one that says, it won’t happen to me. I can browse the web for a treadmill for another week…month…year… I have forever… You don’t have forever

YES you can afford it

YES you can put half an hour to one side three times per week to use it
YES you can get that younger, leaner body back
YES you can have all of the energy and fitness levels back that you had in your youth.
YES exercise will add years to your life and life to your years

The only questions that YOU need to answer is this. Are you prepared to put in some effort and spend R10 per day to be able to use a decent treadmill?

If you have read up to here then its time to TAKE ACTION. Stop looking for reasons to leave it another year.
In the famous words of Edward Stanley : “Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness”

Treadmills in Port Elizabeth

Not that much it turns out. Especially considering that you will be one of the people who are going to use it and get all of the resultant benefits! Keep reading my posts and I will keep you motivated and educated in the ways of health and fitness

How much does a treadmill cost?

Well let’s take the example of a treadmill costing R14 500. No it’s not the cheapest treadmill I can offer you.
Yes, I know you wanted the cheapest treadmill in the world for R5 000. Well that one is over there in the corner, that’s right next to the new Plasma TV for R500. That’s right, being used by the jittery brain surgeon who offers discounts if he can operate on three people at the same time. Now he can offer you a cheap deal!
Have I made my point on cheap stuff in general?
Let’s get real for a minute. Buy something that you will ENJOY and love training on. Something that will keep you coming back for more. Spoil yourself. Use the similar criteria to those that you use when buying a car.
A good treadmill at a price point of R14 500 will last you about five years. It’s a capital purchase like a car. By the way on average we replace cell phones every two years at an average real cost of R5000. And No, you don’t really get it for free, and NO you don’t need all of the features
So here is the comparison.
Treadmill …………………………..R8       per day                  R14 500      total over 5 years
1 packet Cigarettes                        R10      per day                 R18 000   total over 5 years
1 Coffee Per day                            R10       per day                R18 000    total over 5 years
Gym membership (Virgin) ………R13      per day                R24 000    total over 5 years
15 km return drive                            R24      per day                 R43 200    total over 5 years
30 minutes on cell every day         R60     per day                R108 000   total over 5 years
YES, You can afford to buy something that is good for you by cutting back on other, sometimes needless expenses.
Some purchases like houses and cars need to be put into perspective and seen as part of a monthly budget.
Exercise equipment is no exception.
